Lemon season is here!
One of the many joys of living in the valley is a constant source of free citrus. There are so many people around town who just can't use all the fruit produced by one tree, and since ours are still babies we gladly take whatever excess we can get our hands on.
Meyers are our favorite lemons. Because they are a cross between a lemon and an orange, the flavor is somewhat sweeter and less acidic.
The juicing was a long process, made thankfully easier with the help of our electric juicer.
Some of the juice was poured into ice cube trays and then bagged to use all year long.
Zest was 'baked' for an hour to make sure it was fully dried before storing....
...and slices were dehydrated for use in teas this winter...and next!
I also made and canned a big batch of lemonade concentrate ~ pics to follow.

Your photos are great. Did you get a new camera for Christmas?
No Maybelline, but I am playing around with a lens I rarely use (85mm 1.8) so I don't have to use flash as often. Tho I'm fairly happy with the results I am really craving a macro lens right now!
There you go again...flaunting your free citrus. :0) *sniff* Snow...I have free snow. Might I interest you in that? We're running out of places to put it and unlike free lemons, I can't interest our neighbors in it either.
I like the way the 85mm 1.8 lens looks. I'd love one for portraits.
