I recently finished reading Farm City by Novella Carpenter. Good book and pretty much where we would like our yard to be in a few years...except not in a crime-ridden section of Oakland. For more info on her urban farm....check this out.
Pretty cool Mo, I could see you guys doing this. I always found pigs to be about the easiest animal to raise, that's why I did it all those years. They certainly don"t need much space.
She made the 'pig raising' experience much more difficult because she refused to buy food for them and foraged everything they ate. In the book she talked about having to go dumpster diving every other night just to keep them fed. I think if we were to raise pigs, we'd be visiting the feed store :)
