End of the Line

Baseball season came to an end last Friday when Exeter lost to Kingsburg, 7-4. It was a tough loss, they always are, but it's especially hard when you have a great team of boys, a wonderful group of parents....and a pretty incredible coach.

...and this ump was just plain wrong...

Maureen, am on the Shuttermom site, replied to your senior post( Deb) and I know what you mean about the "End of the line" our baseball team was eliminated from the playoffs last weekend. No biggie you say? Well it was sad because we were going for our 8th straight trip to the state tournament. We hold a record for the most consecutive trips to state in ANY classsification in our state(by 4 trips!).
I felt so bad for the boys, they truly just had a couple bad games, we walked 11 batters in the first game( we haven't walked 11 batters total all year and we did it in one inning in that game!!) AND in the second game we stranded 12 base and lost by three runs, it was fustrating... They will be ok though, but it is just weird not playing baseball this time of year..

Hi Deb, nice of you to stop by and comment. It's so hard to explain it to someone who hasn't gone thru it with their own child (or husband or friend) but I was almost in tears after that game...such a good group of boys and SO deserving of a championship. Usually by this time I'm ready to see the season end, but with this team I was thoroughly disappointed. Sounds like you know just what I mean....see you around the forums!
